The 2022 Floods were devastating for everyone. However, remote regions of Pakistan with poor infrastructure saw the most damage. SRD supported hundreds of families during this tough time via food donations, cash grants, and NFI Kits. It is a testament to the resilience of these communities, that they were able to quickly recover from the devastation.
As of 2024, SRD established several vocational training centers in Islamabad and Rawalpindi to youth promote skill development among marginalized communities. Many participants from previous batches have already taken the first step in turning their skills into livelihoods. We are proud to see these motivated individuals make a name for themselves and earn a respectable living.
SRD organized an emergency response with several partners to provide much-needed relief in the area. An initial survey showed gaps in the emergency response, especially in regards to personal hygiene items and kitchen equipment. Overall, SRD supported 550 families with hygiene kits, non-food items (kitchen groceries), clothes, food Donations, cash grants, and Holy Bibles during this time of hopelessness.
